Hierarchical interfaces
Keep your place while the hierarchy changes. Treewise is a project workspace for exploring nested interfaces, selection and keyboard behavior.
const expanded = new Set(state.expanded);
expanded.has(nodeId)
? expanded.delete(nodeId) : expanded.add(nodeId);
return { ...state, expanded };- Project
- Check nested parents and keyboard focus when a branch containing that item becomes hidden.
- Review before applying
- Compare actual behavior with the expected result. If a check fails, investigate it before applying more changes.
- Connection
- Base URL, credentials and a reachable server.

Nested interfaces become difficult to maintain when one interaction changes several kinds of state. Treewise is a Windows AI coding workspace for bringing the relevant components and their behavior into a project conversation. Start with what a user did and what should remain stable, then ask the connected model to inspect the code responsible for that interaction.
Consider a project explorer where expanding a folder unexpectedly moves the selected item. Provide the expansion handler, selection state and rendering code as context. Ask for a proposal that separates those responsibilities while preserving the application’s existing conventions. This explorer is an illustrative task you could develop with Treewise; the workspace does not supply a finished tree component.
Review the proposal as a sequence of interactions rather than a single screenshot. Expand a sibling, collapse a parent and reopen it; check what happens to selection and keyboard focus at each step. Run the relevant project checks and examine the diff for unrelated component changes before accepting it.
An uncensored AI model may be selected if your supported OpenAI-compatible or Anthropic endpoint offers one. The designation describes the model, not guaranteed behavior from Treewise. Context limits and tool availability depend on the model and server, so keep the requested change explicit and bounded.
Preparing a nested-interface task
Which state should I include when reporting lost selection?
Show the selected identifier before the action, the expansion state and the resulting selection. Include the handler and the component that consumes both values. A screenshot alone rarely explains where state was replaced or reset.
Should collapsing a parent clear its selected descendant?
That is a product decision. Describe whether selection should persist invisibly, move to the parent or clear, then ask for a proposal consistent with that rule. Test reopening the branch to confirm the intended result.
Can Treewise verify keyboard behavior without my application?
Do not assume that a code proposal proves the interaction. Run your application and exercise its actual keyboard controls, including focus after expansion and collapse. Use its existing interface tests where available to preserve the chosen behavior.
What if the configured model cannot inspect enough components?
Narrow the task to the state owner and affected consumers, or choose a suitable supported model connection. Capacity and tools vary by server. Supply additional context deliberately instead of assuming every project file was considered.
